Position Summary
Applications are invited for a Senior Post Doctoral Researcher to join the MaREI centre, ERI, in University College Cork (UCC), based at the Beaufort Building, Haulbowline Rd, Ringaskiddy, Co. Applicants should have significant experience in climate impact assessment and planning, particularly at the urban scale. This exciting role provides the opportunity to join an exciting multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers in Ireland’s leading university for marine research. The candidate will undertake research focussed on the EPA-funded project, Large Urban Area Adaptation (Urb-ADAPT) and other internationally funded projects. Focussing on the Greater Dublin Area and underpinned by assessments of spatial and temporal (current and potential future) variations in key urban climate vulnerabilities (coastal inundation, temperature‐related health impacts and flash flooding), the primary aim of Urb-ADAPT will be to develop an innovative regional approach (the Urb‐ADAPT Management Framework) that allows for the integrated assessment and management of current and future climate vulnerabilities within the context of existing non-climatic pressures.
