Research Interests
Urban climatology
- Radiation Fields
: Understanding the radiation fields in urban
areas by observation (1980 - continued). The cubic
radiometer, which was devised by the author, is used to measure
separately and simultaneously solar and long-wave radiation in
which the magnitude and direction as the vector of net flux are
obtained.
- Surface Boundary
Layer : Identification of sensible and latent heat flux above the roof
of a building (1993 - 1999). As the
boundary layer above the urban area is complex, the construction of
vertical heat fluxes above the roof of a building was examined by
eddy-correlation method based on experiment.
- Human Bioclimate
: Impact of summer hot climate on human body and
method to cope with the heat (1993 - continued). Seasonal acclimatization of human body was
investigated by using a
climatic chamber. The sleeveless ventilated jacket to protect the heat
was devised and the performance of heat endurace is examined.
